Maxine Schoefer-Wulf is a multimedia artist based in Berkeley, CA working across

drawing, writing, and video. She uses mark-making and video projection to reimagine

methods of charting the passage of time and to explore her sense of place and scale in

relation to shifting landscapes and vast, impassive cycles. Born in San Francisco and

raised in the Bay Area and Germany, she received her BA from the University of

California, Los Angeles and her MFA in Fine Arts from California College of the Arts.

She has exhibited and screened work locally, most recently at LAND AND SEA in Oakland,

as well as in Brooklyn and Chicago, and was a recipient of the 2020 Dennis Leon and

Christin Nelson Scholarship. Since 2018, she has been part of the small team that runs

/ (Slash), the nonprofit visual art space in San Francisco, where she is the Deputy Director.
